It is the beginning of the second half of this year. We wish you a great start to the season of reaping fruits.
- The North Shore City Council confirms $200,000 support in writing (see attached Appendix to the Memorandum of Understanding)
- At the meeting with the Mayor of the North Shore City on 30 June 2010, the City confirmed its support of $200,000 toward the foundational works for the Korean Garden project, in writing. The Korean Garden construction is expected to commence in March 2011. Plans for the grand ceremony marking the commencement of the construction are under way.
- The financial support from the North Shore City undoubtedly carries domestic and international significance. This advancement is expected to positively affect the Korean government on their decision to fund the Korean Garden project.
- The Korean Garden Trust wish to promote the Korean Garden project further to invite greater attention and financial support from the New Zealand government. The Korean Garden Trust expect Prime Minister John Key’s visit to Korea to have advanced discussions on support for the Korean Garden project.
- Barry’s Point park development plans due for release
- The North Shore City Council is finalizing the development plans for the park at Barry’s Point. The plans include the Korean Garden being positioned in the centre, along with observatory facilities, playground, parking lot and other facilities conveniently located around the Korean Garden.
- We will disclose the finalized plans to the Friends of the Korean Garden as soon as they become available. We expect to be able to do this by end of July.

- After three months of voluntary park cleaning at the Greville Reserve, we will now be working at a new venue at 25 Goldfinch Rise, Unsworth Heights. We will meet 10.30am – 12noon on Saturday 17 July 2010. There are about 30 local Korean residents participating in the voluntary park cleaning programme, including the Legio team of the local Korean Catholic Church and members of Yedong Church.
